Financial Workers

Financial Workers in Downtown Manhattan May be Eligible for Compensation

Many are unaware that all individuals who were in the NYC “Exposure Zone” after 9/11 may be eligible for payouts from the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF). This includes 9/11 victims who either worked, lived, or went to school in this area, and who now suffer from a 9/11-related illness or cancer.

Note: Generally, the “Exposure Zone” includes the World Trade Center site, Pentagon site, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania site, Downtown Manhattan (below Canal Street, west to the Hudson River, and east below Clinton Street to the East River). In addition, the crash site includes the Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island, the trucks and barges that removed 9/11 debris, places where emergency vehicles were cleaned, and the New York City Morgue.

Downtown Workers Affected by 9/11

There was a large population of financial workers on Wall Street and in the surrounding areas whose health was impacted, either on the day of the September 11, 2001 attacks or in the months that followed, as they unknowingly were exposed to hazardous toxins. Many of our clients at Hansen & Rosasco, LLP have come forward with a 9/11-related illness, some of which are various types of cancer. We have represented a number of financial workers, winning them some of the highest awards to date for our firm.

Were You There in Between September 11, 2001 and May 30, 2002?

This Downtown Manhattan client was completely disabled by breast cancer, which required multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and reconstructive surgery. And this was not the only one of our clients who returned to work in Lower Manhattan, thinking it was safe. We now know just how untrue that was.

Are you a 9/11 victim who was present in the “Exposure Zone” between September 11, 2001 and May 30, 2002? If so, you may be eligible for compensation for your 9/11-related illness – which could include, but is not limited to, various types of cancer, breathing problems, and digestive issues. Our WTC lawyers fight for the compensation all 9/11 victims deserve. You were told the air and water were safe, and we know just how much you need and deserve a VCF award.
