The World Trade Center Health Program and the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund provide health care and compensation for any type of cancer diagnosed in any child under age of 20 who was exposed to the 9/11 dust and fumes.

When determining if a cancer is a “childhood cancer” covered by the WTCHP and the VCF, it is important to know that a childhood cancer is defined based on the child’s age that the cancer is diagnosed by a physician or health care provider, and not the age that the individual is when treating with the WTCHP or registering or filing a claim for 9/11 victim compensation.
