On Wednesday, August 7th, Special Master Sheila Birnbaum of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) will speak at a forum in Brooklyn hosted by the World Trade Center Health Program’s Long Island Clinical Center of Excellence (LI-CCE), directed by Stony Brook Medicine’s Benjamin Luft, MD.
The forum will continue with the campaign in reaching as many 9/11 survivors and first responders as possible in informing them to register with the VCF whether they have become ill with a 9/11 related illness or not. The fast approaching deadline date is October 3, 2013.
John Feal of the FealGood Foundation, has partnered with the LI-CCE and will attend the forum to lend his support to those affected by exposure of toxins on 9/11 and the aftermath. The forum was specifically intended to be held in Brooklyn to inform residents that the LI-CCE has now extended facilities to their area where they can get the free health care they deserve.
The meeting will also serve as an informational seminar aimed to educate the 9/11 community about what steps to take in filing a VCF claim and how to enroll in the World Trade Center Health Program. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask Special Master Sheila Birnbaum questions about the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund claim process as well as other related topics.
The Forum will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn at 1305 86th Street from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Seating is limited. Call Sonia Fore at 631-855-1207 to reserve seats on or before August 5th.
