Stomach Cancer (Gastric Cancer)

Ground Zero Dust and Stomach Cancer

Stomach cancer (also known as gastric cancer) begins in the stomach. As a result of having ingested dust and toxins on or during the many months after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, first responders and other survivors (Downtown Manhattan residentsworkersteachers, and students) are at a high or elevated rate of being diagnosed with stomach cancer.

The WTC attorneys at Hansen & Rosasco, LLP have secured 9/11 Fund payouts for many clients who are fighting stomach cancer.

Our WTC attorneys secured $250,000 in 9/11 Fund payouts for an insurance executive with 9/11 stomach cancer.

Stomach Cancer Conditions

After food is chewed and swallowed, it enters the esophagus, a tube that carries food to the stomach. The stomach then holds food and starts to digest it by secreting gastric juice. The food and gastric juice are mixed and then emptied into the first part of the small intestine.

Note that stomach cancer should not be confused with other types of cancer that can occur in the abdomen, like cancer of the colonliverpancreas, or small intestine.

Our WTC attorneys are also experienced in filing claims for these types of cancer along with other conditions covered through the Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) and World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP).

Stomach Cancer Treatment

The main treatments for stomach cancer are:

My husband died as a result of cancer. This firm was able to help me obtain the compensation I deserve for me and my two minor children. I had no idea we were entitled to that high of a compensation and this firm really worked hard for us! We will always be thankful.” -Gina E.
